Simplicity and convenience makes your storage experience better. Ask our staff for ideas. Some suggestions:

Contain your property:

• Ask about boxes and packing supplies
• Regardless of Unit size - make the most of every square foot:
  • Our tall ceilings means staking space
  • Mattresses, fabric chairs and sofas should be covered
  • Use the inside of your dressers or bookcases to maximize storage space
  • Store tables upside down on padding
  • Wrap all items individually; large heavy items on the bottom and lighter items on top
  • Store some long items in their ends (not sofa beds) to maximize space
  • Remove or fold handles on equipment to maximize space
  • Place heavy items in small boxes and light items in large boxes

Before Removal & Storage:

• Clean and drain fuel/oil from mower and other equipment
• Drain washing machine, secure motor and barrel for travel if required (front loaders especially) -refer to manufactures handbook
• Drain water from freezer and other equipment the day before removal and make sure they are clean and dry.

Plan your space inside the Unit:

• Place cartons with non-fragile items in the back of the Unit to about waist height as a base
• Stand mattresses and solid larger furniture on the cartons
• Stack smaller, lighter items on top of the furniture
• Work your way forward an upward
• Use protective blankets to protect surfaces
• Store refridgerators and freezers with doors slightly ajar
• Store items that you will need access to in the front of the Unit, such as Christmas and Easter decorations
